Grapes are fruits that originate from the fruit of wild vines from the Caspian Sea region. The beginnings of wine production are dated to 8,000 years and took place in the area of present-day Georgia. The Egyptians already had the capacity to grow vines and produce wine. The Romans spread the viticulture in the Mediterranean Sea region.
Today, vines are grown almost all over the world, and the Mediterranean Sea basin is one of the most known regions in this respect.
The grapes contain minerals and vitamins, such as: vitamins from the B, C, A groups, pectin, tannins, carotenes, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, chlorine, zinc, copper, boron, chromium, sodium, manganese, iodine and iron.
