Apricot – a species of perennial plant belonging to the Rosaceae family. It comes from Asia, the native area of its occurrence includes Kyrgyzstan, China and Korea. As an introduced species, it grows wild in Japan.
Raw fruits contain a lot of aspartic acid (336 mg per 100 g) and β-carotene (1,523 mg per 100 g). They also contain a little bit of iron. Apricots are a source of iron, phosphorus and potassium (the latter nearly 300 mg in 100 g of a fruit), as well as 25 times more of vitamin B2 than peaches (0,05 mg in 100 g). Thanks to this, apricots help in the creation of red blood cells, strengthen and regenerate the body.
